2nd day - Boxing day Test - Indians mauled

Remarkable in its true sense ... day started today early morning, first over from RP was played well Mitchel J and Clarke buckled to Zaheer's pace. Indians started so mildly that I went to sleep for a couple of hours, by the time Sachin and Lax were on the crease ... Lax got out to a mis-judged bouncer, while Sachin mis-judged the bounce and Saurav I do not know, coz I was at office ... all in all though it was a pathetic display and sheer bad luck on the part of Lax and Sachin.

Outsourced ....

Yeah, thats the title of a movie I caught up with ... Josh Hamilton and Ayesha Dharkar stars in this lovely flick ... Josh plays solitaire on his w/s when his boss calls him for a chat, thats when he comes to term with 'Outsourced'. Just as the Americans taught us the nuances of 'small talk' and 'schmuck' we helped them understand the global delivery model and bring in real time benefits ... Tightly scripted the movie takes Josh to Mumbai, and from there to Gharpura, to a call center (in construction) which has among its rolls Ayesha (Asha) ... thats where the romance with this country begins for Josh (Todd, or Toad as he is called by the affectionate desis). Like the many clients I spoke to, at first Todd thinks this country to be a challenge and resists the change that this country wants of you ... acceptance though is the best policy. Thoroughly researched, but exaggerated at points, this makes for a good viewing. Good viewing at least for the software folks ...

The tale of Two Sisters ..

I see a lot of horror movies ... the like of 'Grudge', 'Saw' and the 'Hostel's ... but this one was definitely different, it doesn't have the hurry factor ... for the first twenty minutes or so you wonder whether this is about a fairy tale, though its so quiet, it borders on the eerie.. The Tale .. is a moving story of guilt, of memories, of schizophrenic reality (oxymoron) and brilliant photography to compliment it. I have got an import of a clutch of korean movies from my vendor and looks like they are doing really good movies ... a little digging around and I found that this movie was nominated for the oscars ... a rarity in this genre ... a must see !!

Christmas weekend ...

Caught up with 'December boys' ... a nice movie set on 4 adolescents in what seemed like a island ...( later I found it was shot on Kangaroo island, Ozzie). Daniel Radcliffe has certainly moved on and fits the role so does the others ... but 'Misty' takes the cake ... if you like tearjerkers this sure can help you. The story goes that the four orphans have an all expense paid holiday with one of the church patrons on a scenic sea-coast and as they are just getting used to a carefree vacation ... the news of one of the residents wishing to adopt one of them is overheard ... this is a shared secret of the 'December boys' and each one goes all out to prove himself the best. The end has a predictable twist though it is a lovely little movie and I loved it.
